Replacing One Bathroom Mirror With Two: Plan the Whole Vanity
Tips
2 Min Read
A double-vanity mirror change illustrates the alignment, removal and wall-finish questions to resolve before installing separate framed mirrors.
Replacing one broad bathroom mirror with two framed mirrors changes more than the number of pieces. The new layout needs to work with the sinks and lighting, and the wall revealed by removal may need attention before the new mirrors are installed.
For this Pittsboro home, Handydux replaced the existing large bathroom mirror with two separate gold-framed mirrors. The photograph shows the installed pair above a double vanity. It documents the new arrangement, not the condition of every part of the wall before installation.
Start with the locations of the sinks, faucets and lights. Decide what each mirror should center over and compare their outside dimensions with the available space. Check both mirrors as a pair; approving one position in isolation can leave the overall vanity unbalanced.
Clarify the removal scope before the visit. Existing mirror attachment, disposal arrangements and any surface repair or painting are separate questions. Do not assume a new frame will cover all marks left by the previous mirror. If other trades are involved, agree on the order of work and when the wall will be ready.
Send a full vanity photo, the replacement products and their dimensions, weight information and instructions. Explain whether the old mirror is still present. That information helps define the work accurately while keeping the layout decision tied to the vanity people will actually use.
