Preparing an Acrylic Standoff Display for Installation

Check acrylic display dimensions, panel order, supplied hardware and the intended wall arrangement before requesting a standoff installation.
Six acrylic album-cover displays installed in two rows at Sherry’s Raleigh home.
An acrylic standoff display should be reviewed as a complete product and arrangement. The visible panel, its supplied hardware and the intended order of the pieces all belong in the installation request. A front photograph alone may not show how the display attaches or how its contents will be changed later.
In Sherry’s Raleigh project, Handydux installed six acrylic display pieces with aligned mounting points above a chair, along with other artwork around the home. The photograph shows album covers arranged in two rows. It documents the finished display; it does not identify a universal standoff system or a drilling method for other products.
Identify the actual display system
Share the product link or manufacturer, outside dimensions, quantity and supplied instructions. State whether the acrylic comes predrilled and whether a template is supplied. Photograph the provided components and keep them associated with the right panels.
If the product arrived without instructions or with missing hardware, make that the first question. Do not assume an online guide for a similar display applies. The system needs review before the wall positions and attachment details can be finalized.
Existing scratches, damaged corners or irregular holes should be noted in the inquiry. Describing a concern is more useful than attempting a repair before the installer has seen the product information.
Agree the content and its order
Decide which artwork, record cover or document belongs in each panel. Number the pieces in a simple left-to-right plan. A sequence can matter visually even when all panels have matching dimensions.
Confirm the orientation of the contents and the intended viewing position. If some contents are still being selected, keep that uncertainty separate from the installation-ready pieces. The installer should not have to infer the final sequence from a stack of covers or prints.
If the material is delicate or has conservation requirements, identify that before it is enclosed. Choosing suitable display materials or conservation treatment is a separate matter from attaching a supplied display to the wall.
Review the outside edges and the mounting points
Use the complete display dimensions when judging how the group fits above furniture. The visible artwork may be smaller than the acrylic around it, and the arrangement includes both panel size and the intended gaps.
The mounting-point layout then needs to be checked against the actual product. Do not substitute measurements from a product photograph for a supplied template or the physical item. If the pieces differ, identify those differences before treating the group as a repeated grid.
For the visual composition, the picture-grid planning guide explains why overall dimensions matter. The standoff installation still needs its own product and wall review.
Ask how future changes will work
If you expect to replace the displayed contents, ask for the manufacturer’s access method to be explained at handoff. Keep any dedicated tool or supplied spare component identified. Avoid assuming that a panel can be opened or removed in the same way as an ordinary picture frame.
Discuss the space around the display and the furniture below it. Future access should be considered when choosing the position, especially where the arrangement sits over a desk or seating.
Send the arrangement and product information together
For a request, provide the product instructions, panel count, outside dimensions, ordered layout and a whole-wall photograph. Add any known wall information and explain whether an existing display must be removed first.
Use General Mounting for review of the supplied mounting system, with Art Installation & Picture Hanging relevant to the wider artwork arrangement. Sherry’s project offers an example of a completed grouping; the details of your actual display determine the next installation conversation.
