What to Include in an Acoustic-Panel Installation Brief

Prepare an acoustic-panel mounting request with product instructions, an approved layout and clear responsibility for any acoustic design or testing.
Six wall-mounted panels on one side of the documented Apex installation.
An acoustic-panel installation request should identify the panels and the approved arrangement. It should also say whether someone has already selected the layout for an acoustic purpose or whether that decision still needs specialist advice. Mounting a chosen layout and determining how a room should perform are different pieces of work.
In Handydux’s Apex acoustic-panel project, 12 panels were mounted, with six on each side in the client’s requested arrangement. A later phase added artwork and picture lights. The record documents the panel count and physical arrangement. It includes no before-and-after acoustic measurements, so the photographs should not be read as evidence of a particular sound reduction or listening result.
Identify the panels before discussing the wall
Provide the manufacturer, model, quantity, dimensions and weight information. Include the instructions and the supplied mounting components. If the panels differ in size or construction, group them separately in the request.
Use instructions for the actual product. As an example of the documentation to locate, GIK Acoustics publishes an installation manual through its official instructions page. That reference does not identify the manufacturer of the panels in the Handydux photographs and should not be substituted for another product’s instructions.
Tell the installer about missing components, damaged panels or any proposed modification. An installation plan should not depend on assuming that hardware from a different product will fit.
Separate the approved layout from an unresolved design question
If a designer, manufacturer or acoustic consultant has specified the arrangement, provide that plan and identify who can approve a change. Include orientation and the intended panel positions, with a clear distinction between confirmed measurements and an approximate sketch.
If the layout is mainly a visual preference, say that too. The request can then be reviewed as the installation of the chosen arrangement rather than represented as an acoustic design service.
If your main question is how many panels the room needs or where they should go for a measured result, resolve that with the appropriate specialist or manufacturer. A finished photograph from a different room cannot answer it.
Show the full room around the proposed positions
Send a whole-wall view, not just the clear rectangle where one panel might fit. Include doors, windows, furniture, controls and other objects that affect the available space. Identify whether the furniture will remain in its photographed position.
State whether the work is on walls or another surface. A wall installation example does not establish that a different ceiling or overhead arrangement can use the same method. Any unusual access or installation position needs review for the actual site and product.
If other trades or equipment changes are part of the project, explain the order. The mounting appointment should not rely on a wall or room configuration that is still being changed without that dependency being known.
Define what completion will mean
For a physical installation scope, the handoff can identify which panels were installed and whether any item remains open. It can also retain the approved arrangement and the product instructions for later reference.
Acoustic testing, performance guarantees and adjustments based on measurements need their own agreement if they are part of the project. Do not treat an installed panel count as proof that a sound target has been reached.
To discuss mounting supplied panels, use General Mounting and send the product information, layout and room photographs. The Apex project shows a real installation in the portfolio; your brief supplies the facts needed to review your own arrangement.
